Numerous Islands will be Glad
Artist Statement
“Numerous Islands Will Be Glad” is a series whose subject is a joyful spirituality and appreciation of life. The title comes from the first line of Psalm 97: “The Lord is King, the world will rejoice, numerous islands will be glad.” Works in this series use a common imagery of varied “island” shapes, and emphasize the ability of paint, color and light to communicate a spirit of joy and thankfulness. The artist explores this theme in the mediums of both painted glass and printmaking.
